On February 1st, Founding CA Mother Reante’ LaBeija, CA Father Erin “Leo LaBeija” Whalen, and CA Overseer Leon “Leonidas LaBeija” Ramsey hosted FREE YOUR MIND, an annual mental health awareness event dedicated to fostering conversation, community, and healing.

Held at The Chapel @ The Abbey in West Hollywood, the event took place in one of Los Angeles’ most recognized LGBTQ+ safe spaces, making it the perfect setting for open and transformative dialogue. Through a dynamic panel discussion, a West Coast Of-The-Year-approved mini-deluxe ball, and a marketplace featuring wellness vendors, attendees explored the intersections of mental health, identity, and Ballroom culture.

Highlights of the Evening

• Panel & Q&A: Mental health professionals, community leaders, and Ballroom figures addressed key topics, including conflict resolution, boundary setting, trauma responses, and navigating systemic barriers.
• Mini-Deluxe Ball: Participants celebrated self-expression and resilience through curated categories, each offering a cash prize.
• Wellness Vendors: Community-focused organizations and businesses provide resources centered on mental health, self-care, and holistic well-being.
